Dan Yu, 2001 USAIHC Gold Medalist Named Professor of Harp at Xinghai Conservatory of Music

Today, Dan Yu was officially appointed Professor of Harp at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guandong, China.
In the ceremony, Secretary Deng Guoan extended a warm welcome to Professor Yu and said that “talent is the first resource and the core force that promotes the high-quality development of school education. Professor Yu has profound artistic attainments and rich practical experience in the professional field, and will inject new vitality into the teaching, scientific research and discipline construction of the harp major in our school.”
Cai Qiaozhong, Dean of the Music School, expressed his warm welcome to Professor Yu to join the Xinghai family and congratulated her on winning the honorary title of “National High-Level Talent” from the Ministry of Education. He went on to emphasize that the school’s current main task is to concentrate on building a doctoral program and to create a talent-training center in the “Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area.”
Dan Yu said that she was very happy to become a member of the Xinghai family and thanked the school for its trust and support. She promised to make full use of her international resources and devote herself to improving the teaching system, as well as cultivating outstanding artistic talents and inviting exchange with leading international harpists.
Professor Yu will be included in the core teaching team to promote and build a talent-training system from the Affiliated High School, undergraduate to graduate students, and the development of the school’s doctoral program.
